Clay, I always love your videos and the fun you all have overlanding! Your Africa trip didn't take you into east Africa. But, the Karamoja area of north eastern Uganda would have terrain similar to what you all are driving through. Lots of sand, scrub brush, crazy rock formations, and wonderful people that herd cattle.

So the Trail Hunter has the 9.5 Rear diff and other models have the 8.2 Rear diff. Does the TRD Pro have a 8.2?

i don't do overlanding but i have a ICECO VL35PROS and a Jackery 1000. it's overkill for someone like me that only go on weekend trips.

This is super awesome but the reality if you don’t drive a new 4 runner etc, have the newest best gear, or a massive paying job you probably aren’t welcome or it’s not affordable. This is a shame because it looks like you have built something epic, what an amazing place to learn from the best! That’s the problem with the overlanding community, it’s becoming ALL about money!

I want this trail hunter to go driving on the many rough off roaring trails in northeast tn/ eastern kentucky/southwestern virginia/western north Carolina and north Georgia mountains. Time to teach the jeeps folks how it is done not needing huge 35x13.5 inch tires on a vehicle. I will be retiring in 3 more years so I can build my own off roaring UA-cam channel and go on epic cross country journeys in my Tacoma trail hunter overlanding rig. Might get my naval officer son to build a tundra pro overlanding rig as well. Then we can take my grandsons and granddaughters on outings in the deep woods and deserts out west.

I'm curious why not go ahead and make the trail hunter and trd pro full time 4 wheel drive with part time 4 low and 4 high? I feel like it could turn off a segment of buyers that want the cool top trims but want to have a full time 4 wheel drive for on the road wet and snowy conditions. Also, why no front locking diff? I'd think to fully complete with bronco and wranglers they'd finally do a true front locker. Overall huge improvements but at least as of now I feel like to get the perfect 4runner I would want to piece them together. Trail hunter but want the sun roof the TRD pro has and the full time 4 wheel drive of the limited. Hopefully there will be options to add.
